Kandice was so friendly and provided amazing service!! We will come back for sure! The food can stand on its own

i rode with my mom, her uncle, and the wife of my uncle again to spend time with family, and post another review of a tulsa restaurant. food - the first menu option that attracted my attention was the 2 egg any way platter, a diner classic, and a dish i consider comparable to one my mom might prepare in her kitchen. however, my mom proposed sharing a california skillet plate, which sounded to me and i found to be plenty filling. the skillet plate features eggs, as well as peppers and avocados, which though i didnt ask about sourcing, may have come from california. the dish is also served with a side of a biscuit with an unhealthily healthy portion of gravy. service - i intended to request the name of the waitress who greeted our breakfast party upon arriving at the restaurant, but i believe now after the dining experience is that an important aspect of the effectiveness in service at this restaurant is the team waiting dynamic. this was evidenced by one waitress submitting our order, one delivering the food, one asking about refills and supplying to-go containers, and the same waitress who greeted us and submit the order being the cashier at the front for sections throughout the restaurant. while the team wait techniques employed by the staff here are not typical of restaurants i dine, it does seem to me effective to be an effective method. ambiance - the main critique i have of the ambiance nevertheless has counterbalance in how that feature promotes a positive attribute. first, the booth we were seated and most seats through the rest of the restaurant were rather tight spaces, but that allows for a larger seating capacity and less wait time. the american and armed service flags on display as part of decor also add to the classic diner atmosphere, which i do not love in abundance, although such a neutral atmosphere allowed me to focus more on the tasty food.

Last Sunday, we took our extended family here after church. There were 9 of us so I got to see a lot of different dishes. They all looked tempting, especially the egg Benedict. The bacon is nice and thick. I can't wait to return and see if they taste as good as they look. Service was perfect. The server took good care of us. I don't know how she managed to do such a good job with a table of 9. My brother in law knew about a perk they have for first time customers. If there's a first timer, the table gets a giant cinnamon roll. Bob told the server we had several first timers and she brought us one. It was enormous! Enough to satisfy 9. The atmosphere was that of a large busy diner. It's decorated nicely. I ordered my usual chicken fried chicken. I asked if the mashed potatoes were scratched or from a box. They are instant potatoes, but they offer baked potatoes as a side, so I got a baked potato and extra gravy and mashed that. The only disappointments I had were the rolls didn't taste as good as they looked, they gave us a whipped spread instead of butter, and the carrots weren't so good. The chicken fried chicken was huge. It was a thick chicken breast fried to perfection and it covered the plate. There was enough for my lunch the next day. You can't go wrong at the Silver Skillet.

Tons of food offerings. Breakfast, entrees, burgers. I got a breakfast dish. Spouse got chicken fried chicken. Crowded, pleasantly noisy diner atmosphere. Even though we were a party of nine, Stephanie took excellent care of us, keeping waters and coffee full.

If you're looking for a warm, hometown diner experience, look no further than the Silver Skillet! From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home. My wife especially appreciated the small touches, like the flavored creamers for her coffee. They also offer apple butter and orange marmalade alongside the usual grape and strawberry jams, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server, Rachel, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were always topped off. My wife ordered the Pumpkin Pancake Meal, which came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 pumpkin pancakes. I went all in with the Meat Fiesta: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 ham, 2 pumpkin pancakes, and hash browns. The flavors didn't disappoint! The sausage and ham were perfectly seasoned, the bacon was thick and crispy, and the eggs were cooked just right. The pumpkin pancakes were packed with flavor, and I loved that they served whipped cream on top--it made a great substitute for butter (though butter is available if you prefer). The best part? Since it was our first time, Rachel surprised us with a massive cinnamon roll--more like a cinnamon roll cake! We were too stuffed from our meal to eat it right away, so we took it to-go for a later treat. The Silver Skillet delivers everything you'd expect from a small-town diner: friendly service, generous portions, delicious food, and all at very reasonable prices. If you're ever in Tulsa, this place is a must-visit! We'll definitely be back.

Skip the big chains and head here for a delicious meal! Our hockey team stumbled on this diner when we were at the Oiler Ice rink. After a quick 5 min wait, they were able to seat us all in their long party room. Not too shabby for a Saturday morning! The kids and parents all had fantastic compliments to their meals. For mine, I got the Popeye omelet with a pancake and it was scrumptious. No one, even the dads or our tired hockey players could finish off the huge portions!

I have been to Silver Skillet Family Diner several times for breakfast which this diner has proved very capable. All basic breakfast items are well made. Even the complicated breakfast items are simple, nothing over the top or fancy. AND THIS IS OKAY FOLKs! However, I haven't found anything that pushes this diner over the edge to earn the coveted 5 stars until today. I have never had a more satisfying cup of soup and a salad than at Silver Skillet. The chicken noodle soup is great but the sweet strawberry chicken salad blows everything out of the water from the presentation to the taste and to the cohesiveness of the ingredients coming together. It comes with this yellow sauce that's simply to die for. If heaven exists on earth, I have no doubt it's in that yellow sauce. And this is not the best part yet. THE BEST PART IS THE MEAL IS SO AFFORDABLE!!!
